YouTube Is Making Their Player Wider

Yo subscribe to WebRampage via RSS feeds or email. That way you'll get all the updates and everything.

Breaking news! (And woohoo! I’m the first one to blog about this. I feel special!)

YouTube is playing with their video player. Take a look at my screenshot on the left. Notice anything different?

They’re making the player wider and everything below it. They’ve narrowed down the stuff on the right (related videos, info, more from, etc).

Well these are good changes, my friend. I like it! Wider screen is always better. But, are these changes temporary? Like are they just playing around or will these changes stay for good?

Anyways, I’m off. I’ll get my people looking into this tomorrow. And until then I wanna hear what YOU think about this. Good? Bad? Excited?

That’s certainly a welcome change! Hopefully it won’t look too stretched on some videos…

    Hum nice topic !
I personnaly don’t see what make it different ? I mean , when you watch a video you put it on FullScreen right?

And beside wider mean that if the video is of bad quality , doesn’t that mean you will see all those pixel stuff Bigger? screaming in your face that it’s real bad quality video ?

I dunno , I guess it’s a useful update for those who use YouTube very often :-)

Fantastic. No more black lines on the left and right for widescreen videos when I am on full screen. I can truly enjoy my 16:9 laptop screen.
