Yeah I've heard good things about HostGator. Like I said before, there are 2 kinds of oversellers. One that puts you on a crappy server and the one which has a lot of servers (or maybe a datacenter).

HostGator is the 2nd one. Sometimes overselling really hurts and sometimes it does a bit. Just depends on the company (and the number of servers).

I personally wouldn't go with a oversold plan because they tell you that you can use xxxxGB of space, but when you use about 20%-60% they close your account for "system abuse". I like to know how much I can REALLY use.

Overselling is like an old Toyota with the logo of Porsche on it.

I use HostGator, Great company. Love having my site hosted there, Had no problems once so ever. Who cares if they are overselling, You and me both know that we arnt going to use that much space. You should be more worried about how they conduct business, Their responsiveness to support, Things of that sort. It's all about the company, MediaTemple for example, Well respected company. If they gave me a reasonable limit or "oversold". I'd still go with the oversold plan, Then I could have that same great company with all the space I would have with the "reasonable plan" plus more JUST incase. Overselling aint bad, Just depends on the company overselling.
