Stay Away From DP Forums

I have to say that DP (Digital Point) forums are pretty active and almost all the webmaster know about that forum. I’ve been using that forum for sometime now and I have a few things to tell you guys about it.

Well first of all, someone should nominate that site for the ugliest site of the century. Like c`mon its 2008. Time to get a new skin. I’m not being a hater. I’m just being honest and I’m sure that a lot of people will agree with me.

Okay here’s why I don’t like DP. Its basically because there’s newbies coming in and asking the same question that has been asked a few days ago and this just goes on and on. Everyone is like a “pro” or at least that’s their attitude.

I will agree that there are also a few nice people. But most of them aren’t really nice. They don’t really share anything new. Basically the same thing over and over again. Now it might be good if you are a complete beginner since you’ll learn the basics and a few advanced things. And after that there’s no learning. You’ll just be replying to newbies’ questions and stuff.

But, I’ll also have to say that it is a good place for selling your product or service. But the thing is its a really active forum and your thread gets buried within 30mins-2hours. Now that sucks. And forget about advertising. You wish man. Try doing that and you’ll get a few people hating on you.

Oh and the forum structure is just superb. Nice way to confuse people. I gotta say that I was f**king confused when I first joined that forum and I made a thread in the wrong category (and I got an infraction).

This is just me telling you guys my opinion. Just so you guys don’t waste your time.

    I <3 digipoint.

great place for getting cheap content for spam sites :D

    j/k

It is good, but there’s only a couple dozen people you know are going to be giving good advice and making useful comments.

Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go write a thread with everything you need to know about SEO. Pro Tip - Keyword Density.

    lol.

DP sucks for sure. I don’t care how may posts/threads/members they have…There are so many people getting scammed there. No one will do anything even when people are calling them out. All the mods do is close the thread. Its ridiculous. Seriously.

I agree there are a few nice people on there but there are some real a**holes on it as well that will go into your thread and not even be interested which ruins it.

Woah Misty you have DP hate forum. Very clever. lol But your forum isn’t doing that well. Its got only a few members and been up since Nov 2007.

You should do some advertising. Like get the word out. And also get at least a logo on the vBulletin skin.

Let me know if you need help.

It was actually just started less than a month ago. We found, on accident, the owner of the domain and partnered with him. He wasn’t sure what to do with it so we said, create a forum. We are, however, having some trouble advertising … Not sure where to go. I found this site thru Googling hate and digitalpoint (go figure). We are working to get the logos done, we got the skins though all set. I would be glad to get help. You can contact me via the forum. :)

Oh okay. Well if I were you then I would make a nice little homepage that explains why DP sucks. Like all the reasons you can think of.

And then have a forum. Like forum.digitalpointsucks.com. That way you could get some people (who don’t have a lot of experience with DP) on your side.

Advertising problem, huh? Don’t worry there are ways to advertise and sell everything. Just get some good, active and loyal members. Ask them to refer some people.

And also I would make my own vBulletin skin (contact me if you need help) and everything. Like a solid identity.

Hit it big and you’ll be on blogs and of course, on DP. The members will be swearing their ass of over there and that would get you some traffic.
