New “Mutual Friends” List Feature on Twitter

13 Aug

Oh looks like Twitter just rolled out a new feature. Its almost like the “mutual friends” list from Facebook. Here’s a screenshot for you guys:

I’m guessing this feature is connected with their “who to follow” suggestions, but as we all know that was an epic fail. Just ask an average tweeter. But, anyways I checked the official Twitter blog and they haven’t made a post about the new feature yet.

Another thing they added in on the sidebar are like tags for the account. As of now, the tags lead to the failwhale when you click on it, but I’m guessing that they are still working on this.

These aren’t big updates or features, but it shows that Twitter is trying to make the site more social and connected as a community. I respect that.

But, how useful would these features turn out to be? I’m not too sure. I’ll let you guys be the judge.

Oh and follow me on Twitter for more updates.

Tips to Cooler Facebook Statuses

13 Aug

I’m sorry to be the one to break the news to you, but your Facebook statuses are probably lame. No we don’t care that your goldfish died or that you had an amazing day at work. You’re lucky that FB didn’t come with a “dislike” button.

The screenshot below is an example of a status fail:

I’m not gonna brag, but man I have the best statuses. It gets everyone “liking” it and commenting on it and everything. They’re like hilarious little attention-grabbing things (most of the time).Seriously check them out.

Don’t worry if you’re not talented enough to have statuses similar to mine. Its alright. It took me years of practice and dedication. Here’s a few small tips to get you started:

  • For God’s sake use proper grammar and punctuation. “Kool” is not cool.
  • Don’t laugh at your own jokes. You look like a retard. No LOL or haha.
  • KISS. Keep it simple, stupid.
  • Lie. We don’t need to know that you were bored all day. Act super-cool.
  • No weird smileys. Actually no smileys at all! I find them annoying.
  • Short and sweet. No need for love stories.
  • Don’t tag anyone unless you really have to.
  • We don’t need to know what you’re doing every single second.
  • No rap lyrics, please.

And the most important tip of all! How often should you update your status? I do it every 3 or 4 days just so I don’t spam people’s timelines or come as an attention-you-know-what.

Alright that’s a good amount of tips for now. Start taking in what I just told you and don’t try too hard. Oh and follow me on Twitter just because.

Why I Love Google

12 Aug

I wake up in the morning, I fire up Google Chrome, I head over to Twitter, I check my Gmail, I check Google Analytics, I check the stats about my readers on Feedburner, I watch some videos on YouTube, and etc, etc.

Everything I have just mentioned is from Google other than Twitter (obviously). Google is just amazing. Google knows everything about me. Google knows how I like to browse the net, where I get emails from, who is reading my blog, how much traffic my blog is getting, what videos I’m watching online and so much more.

Don’t listen to those who are saying Google is a being a creep by having a monopoly. Google is obviously our friend! They mean no harm, right? Who cares if they own all the amazing stuff on and off the net, and are able to keep tabs on us? Its just to make a more personalized experience for us… or something like that.

But, just so I can appreciate Google even more I’m gonna try out the alternatives for a while. You know just to compare things. You might wanna give that a shot too.
