Think Twice Before Getting Offshore Hosting

22 Sep

Okay lets start with some basics. What is an offshore host? Well its a host whose servers are in a foreign country where the laws can’t reach you. You would obviously choose an offshore host if you were planning on doing something (lame and) evil. Copyright infrigement? Ring a bell?

Well here’s the part most people never thought of. What if the host scams you? What if the host just kicks you out? What if the host steals your files and databases? What if? And you know what sucks more? You can’t do anything about it! Remember, there are no laws for those stuff in that country?

Don’t forget the server specs and price. Here’s two things that could happen:

  1. Hosted on a good server, but you get ripped off.
  2. Hosted on a shitty, oversold server for cheap.

And what if the support people don’t speak English or can’t speak properly? Google Translate? Have fun!

Offshore hosting is just a little hype made up by noobs who make warez forums. I personally would suggest that you stay away from it. BTW, here’s a shared hosting checklist and 5 great shared hosting plans. Just trying to make it easier for you to find the perfect host!

Is Digg a Retard Or a Communist?

19 Sep

Digg was hunting down script users, but they kicked it up a notch and went on a banning spree. I got banned too. I thought scripts were okay because MrBabyMan was using scripts and he didn’t get in trouble.

Well I started calling Digg communist because they weren’t treating people equally. But, then I kept thinking until my head started hurting and I asked myself “are they really communist or are they just… retards?”

I get it that Digg is trying to make it a better place, but this just doesn’t seem right. You ever heard of this “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”? Isn’t Digg bringing in more of the same old domination? Now what’s left is the really strong ones (aka diggtators) and the really, really weak ones because they kicked out most of the “mid-level” guys.

And there are some scripts that won’t show up on the radar. What about them? And what if we just change the script to digg one submission per minute when we click the “Digg all” button? That will make it almost impossible for the Digg staff to find the script users.

Plus isn’t this bad for their rep because they’re just showing everyone how much of a fag they can be? Aren’t they just scaring the weak, little average diggers? Man I would be digging as slow as I can if I were a newbie. Like what if they banned me for digging too fast?

The Digg staff is just acting like a bunch of kids. You don’t just do whatever pops up in your head. You need to think about it first. Seriously stop acting all big and tough. Well anyways, its time for the million dollar anwser! So, is Digg a retard of a communist? Both! They’re a retarded commie. But wait! Lets have a little poll here:

Twitter Just Got Redesigned

18 Sep

Yep that’s right folks, Twitter got a shiny new design and its lookin’ good.

Its funny how moving a few things here and there can it more user-friendly. Twitter now has that little at home, warm and welcome feeling. Makes you wanna use it more and go on a tweet-rampage. Just go check it out and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Here’s the changes I’ve noticed:

  1. Moved the tabs from the top to the sidebar.
  2. Displays the number of followers, followings and updates under your name.
  3. Got that whole round corner thing going on.
  4. Displays your latest tweet at the top.
  5. Got a colour wheel on the custom profile design’s page.
  6. Put a tab for favourites on your public profile.

Apparently they added some AJAX magic on the Home and @Replies tabs, but I don’t see them. I checked both in IE and Firefox. Weird. Maybe they’re still working on it.

Well anyways, here’s the official post from Twitter about the redesign. Check it out since its got everything detailed. So, how do you like the new design? I love it.

BTW, this is like the get-a-new-design-day since FriendFeed also rolled out theirs today. I didn’t post about it because I don’t really use it since I don’t see what’s the point of it. Like… oh whatever. And yo, follow my sweet lil’ tweets (please).

Update (Sept 19): There’s a little bug when you go to someone’s profile and click on “Follow” it doesn’t change to “Following” right away, you need to refresh the page.
